"Pagsalubong" -- meeting
This procession began at 4 am. Girls/women met at someone's house along with the statue of Mary wearing a black veil.
Boys/men met at church along with the statue of Jesus.
At a meeting place in the middle of town, the two groups meet.
One of the girls takes off Mary's black veil, signifying her joy in seeing her Son alive.
Both group continue the procession throughout town and back to church for Mass.
