Round two of Story Hour

snacks after story hour

While waiting

Atty Moreno and I went to Regional Trial Court, Pasig, Taguig Branch.  The normally three and a half hour drive took four hours and twenty minutes.  C-5 was closed and caused traffic back up.

Along the side of the road was this wall and when I looked carefully saw the flower.  It was a neat break in an otherwise crazy day for traveling.

I'll be picking one of these guavas next week and eating it.  I hope someone takes my picture for a "fifth".

From our tree in the backyard--
this is the second time for fruits this year.

Sampaguita

National Flower

This stump grew on the side of the old house.  When the house was being demolished I asked the crew to take care and not kill the plant.  Unfortunately the stump was the only thing that remained.  Since February I've been faithfully watering the stump and hoping.

 Praise the Lord she lives!

The following pictures were taken from neighbors' yards just to show what a grown sampaguita looks like.

Yesterday, May 10, as I watered in the afternoon, I noticed the sampaguita at the house had begun to blossom!  I was extremely excited, but unfortunately it was just a bit dark.  I decided to wait to take pictures.

These pictures were taken after I had watered in the morning of May 11.

Impromptu Garden

There are some very industrious people.
A man had taken advantage of the dry season
by planting vegetables in the dirt that
was left as water began to recede.

I've been told that these veggies will be ready for harvest
before the rainy season begins in July.

Isdaan Floating Restaurant

Isdaan (place to get fish) Floating Restaurant
is located in Calawan, Laguna.
It was about a 2-hour drive
from Pililla.

It was a most fun place and there were quite a
number of guests, definitely worth returning to.
